Douglas J. Cefali
President
As President, Mr. Cefali is responsible for all operations of real estate development work including proforma analysis, land acquisitions, feasibility studies, negotiations, value engineering, project management, scheduling, and contract negotiations.
Douglas Cefali is a graduate of California State University, Chico and holds a BS degree in Construction Management. He has also been licensed by the State of California as a general engineering and building contractor since 1981.
He has over twenty years of experience in the California construction industry, which includes a wide variety of projects, including high rise office buildings, seismic and architectural reuse projects, residential buildings, parking garages and heavy civil projects.
Notable projects in the Bay Area include Watergate Towers IV in Emeryville, Treat Towers in Walnut Creek and the Sony Western Regional Operations Center in San Jose.
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Cefali has negotiated and supervised over $300,000,000 in work for industry leaders such as Webcor Builders, The Koll Company, Spieker Properties, Trans Pacific Development and C.L. Peck Contractor.
Richard Ambidge
Senior Project Manager
Malcolm Properties Inc. has hired Richard Ambidge as Senior Project Manager to provide specialized services for the delivery of stand-alone structures, additions, interior fit-out, renovations and construction/demolition throughout San Francisco and Bay Area regions.
Richard has more than 15 years of domestic and international experience in construction management. He has experience in pre-construction planning, estimating, design, construction management, scheduling and project budgeting/cost control. Prior to joining Malcolm Properties, Richard was a senior project manager at Rudolph and Sletten Inc, for 10 years and worked for Bechtel Corporation prior to joining Rudolph and Sletten Inc.

John Malcolm is the President and CEO of Malcolm Drilling Co., Inc and the Chairman of Malcolm Properties Inc. He founded Malcolm Drilling in 1962 after completion of his education at College of San Mateo. He started out with a dream, but never realized how prophetic that dream would become.
Having worked in every capacity in the foundation construction business, John Malcolm has guided MCDI to unprecedented growth over the past 41 years. Today, MDCI is one of the largest and most successful foundation contractors in the world.
He expanded the business from its humble beginning to its current state of the art technology. The business has expanded to include all elements of excavation support system construction: hand dugs shafts, drilled shafts, soldier piles, lagging, tie backs, soil nails, v-nail systems, underpinning, shotcrete, tiedowns and rock anchors. It has been through his thorough study of the industry that he has developed the specialized and proprietary techniques that have enabled Malcolm Drilling equipment to undertake difficult earth support systems requiring innovative design/build techniques.
John Malcolm continues to guide his company in to the 21 century, constantly striving to be innovative as well as creative, with new equipment and improved tooling to help his customers get the best possible product.
